Remember the formula
a^2 + 2*a*b + b^2 = (a+b)^2
So , the b=1
a^2 +2a + 1=(a+1)^2
So , you can find the a :
(a+1)^2=(a+1)(a+1)
a=-1

a=-1 is one of the answer lets solve

b^2 - 4bc =4-4(1)(1)= 0
under root of it is zero

(-b +- D)/2a = -2/2= -1

(x+1)^2=0

only one root it is -1

a^2 + 2*a*1 + 1^2
and this the formula of a^2+b^2+2*a*b=(a+b)^2
hence herein b=1
thus answr is (a+1)^2
