There wasn't one. That is one thing that absolutely did not track with the books. As the series went on, it got further and further away from the books.
There are actually nine books, and I read each one 84,000 times as a kid.

Matthew Charles Laborteaux, born 12-1-1966, played Albert on Little House on the Prairie.
