Mt_Ski is right, Vet school is much harder to get into. The reason is that there a far fewer Schools of Veterinary Medicine compared to regular Medical schools.

It is much harder to get into Vet school. I actually know someone who became an MD because he couldn't get into vet school.

There ar eonly 27 Vet schools in the US. Many have residency requirements and will only accept a small number of students from other states. That means that for many people, there are only one or two Vet schools that they are even allowed to apply to.

It would surely depend upon which schools you apply too. You have to be absolutely sure you love animals before becoming a vet. Med School graduates have a wider range of options for Residency more money too!
