The most precious thing I have I don't own and that's our daughter (nearly 19).
I don't really care too much about "things". If our house was on fire and the people and cats were safe, I'd probably grab photos or several (really, really good) paintings my mother did. They ARE things but they're also irreplaceable.
I wear a necklace I designed decades ago -- it's a silver scorpion set with opals (my birthstone) and a tiny ruby in the stinger. That and my (also self-designed and silver) wedding band, I rarely remove. So, they clearly qualify as precious to me!

I HAVE MANY PRECIOUS THINGS, MOST YOU CAN NOT OWN. But I would have to say that my car is the most precious thing I own. It is a '91 Z/28 with the 5.7L TPI, same engine the vette came with, Have many upgrades, have been offered $25,000. Will not sell, will give to my grandson someday ( he is now 3 yrs. old )

i dont own them so i wont say my children but my most precious thing i own is a big rock that my son painted a picture on when he was 2.He now nearly 13 and although to some it just a rock i love it.It brings back great memories of a really great time in our lives.5yrs ago we had to flee our home i grabbed the children,the hamster,box of important paperwork and the rock!!!!

My dog is the most precious thing I own, well I own half my boyfriend owns the other half we have disagreements on which half each owns depending on which end somethings coming out of!!!!

"Owning" can have several connotations....it is a small metal boat that my son got for me at a garage sale when he was 9 years old...it is tied to a mooring......it always reminds me that our hearts are always together and it has oxidized...from copper to a lovely green patina.....of all the things I have EVER owned it means the MOST!!!! he is now grown and he still gets a kick out of it when i mention how much I love it...... funny the things that bind each other together!!!!!

A 2004 Fender customshop stratocaster. Only one in the world like it. The paint job is actually trademarked by Fender.
