I think the other ladies that answer your question are correct.
The only experience I have with ultra-sounds is when I went with my daughter to have hers done with each one of her children ( 5 all together ) Of course this is a very exciting event
especially if they find twins !!! And they did...... twin boys !!
They did not do them when I was pregnant.......I just had to wait until they were born. I was blessed with one of each !!
Ladies, you are so lucky to be able to find out if you are having a boy or a girl !!!!
Wishing you, happiness,joy & peace !!
Congradulations !!!

Well usually from 16 - 20 weeks they do a scan and then most parents find out the sex of their baby. Then the is the possibility that the baby is not in the right position. It happened to me and I only found out at 28 weeks....
Good luck...

I am sure its between 16 and 20 weeks. I have heard of girls going in at 16 and my appointment is at 20 weeks. I am 18 weeks now, so I cannot wait. The longer you wait, the more accurate the ultra sound will be because of how long it takes for the genitalia to develop.

There is gender differentiation of the external anatomy starting around 12 weeks or so but it usually cannot be seen until closer to 20 weeks. We all eagerly await the day we can find out but it will most likely be at or after 20 weeks. Even then, you may have some really lovely pictures of the baby's spine but never get to see the gender. Best wishes, try not to drive yourself too crazy.

I'm not sure about all doctors. My doctor does an ultrasound between weeks 20 and 22 and that is when he said he would check the sex. Although, my baby wouldnt cooperate, so I didnt find out the sex until week 30.

The doc had me wait until 20. I was going crazy because I thought most people found out at 16. Looking back, I am happy now because the ultrasound tech was 99.9 % sure and said that a later reading results usually in more accuracy. It's difficult to wait, but now I feel like it was worth it.

It just depends...Id go with 20 weeks if I were you because that will be the more accurate one...if you go at 15 wks which Ive heard a lot and they say its a girl you could still have a little boy on your hands who just hasnt blossomed into one yet... Good Luck

Before 18-20 weeks, little boys and little girls genitals look very similar. It is best to wait until 20 so you can be certain.

Congrats!! I suppose that it is different for everyone, i found out at 16weeks (my sons is now 7weekd old (",). My doctor says that it is easier to see whether its a boy then if its a girl. Also all depends on how baby is laying. you will be able to tell 100% by the time you are 20weeks. Good luck
