How on earth do they test to see if the baby is colorblind?

Do they hold up a yellow card and ask the baby 'What colour is this?' - well no wonder they think the baby is colourblind.

Who knows what a baby is actually seeing? Maybe they are seeing in colour, but they don't yet have the image recognition software written in their brain that allows them to interpret the colour. Is this colourblindness? I don't know.

I don't think we'll ever really be able to answer the question until we somehow develop baby telepathy. Then comes the question as to whether or not it matters if the baby is colourblind. It's not like he's going to be driving around and need to see traffic signals.

Ignor MB1810's answer.
Women can be colourblind. Colourblindness is X linked. If a colourblind man has children with a carrier woman, there is a 50% chance of any girls being colourblind, and 50% of being a carrier. This is because all his X chromosomes will be affected, and half of the mother's X Chromosomes will be affected. So there is a 50% chance of getting a double dose of bad X chromosome, without a good X chromosome to counteract it, as happens in carriers.

I think you are going to lose your $100. Newborns see only greyscale, and blurry at that.

Yes they are. Sorry you're gonna loose a $100.
Also never believe a women if she tells you she's colorblind, only men can be colorblind. Women usually carry the "colorblind" gene, but it can only be past on to boys from their mothers.
