Don't let crap get you down. How we react to outside influences is a conscious decision that we make. If we choose to worry ourselves over things, we will feel it as stress. If we let it roll off (like water from a duck's back), it won't bother us. So, don't sweat the small stuff and you'll have no problem relaxing.
And a full body massage won't hurt either...

I am an uptight person, but I've relaxed a bit over the past year. There are 3 ways I did this:
1. I began meditating. What I do is I play a classical song with nature sounds in the background (Solitudes do good ones) and concentrate on the music. I also tried focusing on just one thing that I really wanted. Getting a goal in mind is great!
2. I loved myself. I tried not to find such faults in uptightedness. One thing we tend to do is stress out about how people think about this and that, and worry over it. When I accepted the tensity as a quality that is ME, not good or bad, just ME, I found a natural balance in it. When we get uptight about uptightness, we tend to get more, well, uptight, right?
3. I convinced myself I didn't always have to be perfect. I skipped a question on a test cuz I didnt know it and not getting upset (my first goal) is an example of this. Once you lower expectations of yourself, you accept other people's flaws too.
Remember, when we accentuate the bad we attract bad things. It's okay to be yourself, never think that YOU are bad. Just destress and have fun with life. Having fun with life doesn't always mean doing drugs or living on the edge, like the "relaxed" people say is good. Do things that YOU think are fun, and don't be afraid to enjoy yourself on your own terms!

I like to relax by watching some of my favorite sitcoms and comedy clips on youtube so having a laugh together is great. Otherwise, going out to coffee or dinner and just be a listening ear is often what girls want - I know sometimes I just want someone to validate my emotions and feelings, rather than 'fix' problems. Also, encourage her! That often refreshes people for ages because it gives them confidence to face issues in their lives and they don't feel alone.

Getting on here and doing this. Reading a great book. Taking a nap. Listening to music. ( Sometimes a glass of wine) (Even though I am not a drinker :o)
A relaxing bubble bath. Holding a baby. Looking at old photo albums. Talking to old friends. Having a good old cry.
