I was on holiday in Tenerife. On the first day having arrived at the hotel and unpacked I went for a walk along the seafront. There was a guy doing the 3 card trick and he made it really obvious where the card was and of course let me turn it over successfully a couple of times. He asked if I had a 50 Euro note which I produced and the next thing I knew I had turned over the wrong card and he had my 50 Euro. I knew there was nothing I could do and I cannot remember the last time I felt this stupid - well and truly had.

When I filled in for a mate on a dating agency asking for a wealthy nymphomaniac who was a good cook and owned a pub. I had three replies and they all wore me to a shadow. The thing is, I was only joking and they were deadly serious, oh my back.......

I get that very often. Sometimes I feel that there are very few sincere people left in this world. But don't let that get to you. Just take it as a costly lesson learnt!

About a year ago I lent a large sum of money to a friend of mine who was selling his house. He was to give it back to me when it was sold. He sold his house I never saw him again. He is living in Spain now.
