Confusing question. However, in re: to my religious faith, God is always testing our faith - always. But as disillusioned as I become when a bad thing happens, I know he still exists and does things for a reason. And in re: to the testing of faith that occurs with say a friend or family member, after that initial period of disbelief and anger, God again enters the picture by giving me the courage to forgive them and move on.

Faith can move mountains- Strong WILL can help build strong Faith. Weak WILL can easily make dent not one but repeated dents.

Well, if you are talking about my faith in God....it isn't! Because I know Who God is, and that He loves me.
If you are talking about faith in other things....it will depend on what you have faith in. A person?...they often fail you. A job....? It can change tomorrow. Security in a house...in money....it can be gone tomorrow.
Only God will never fail you. You may fail Him, but He never does. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Faith in your country? Right now, ours is not improving..
in the future?....in yourself?....in your friends....none of them are totally trustworthy...although we hope for the best.

Since my faith is actually based in reason and personal experience rather than anything from an outside source, I see no way for it to be dented.

I get very upset when my faith in a true friend is dented. For example, when you honestly feel that he/she is a very true and sincere person and subsequently you found that your faith in him/her had been misplaced.

It depends on how confident i happen to be feeling. There are times in your life particuarly tough emotional times, ie; divorce, illness, deaths of loved ones etc when your emotionally low and then my confidence gets affected , it is harder for me to maintain my faith during those times.
