It is particulary hard when you live in a dismal inner city apartment, with a nice vista of burning tyres and stolen mopeds.
Sitting about in your underwear, posting 100s of respones on Yahoo answers doesn't help with the motivation, neither does eating pre packed noodle meals with a plastic fork.
You are a loser, use the internet for something productive and get registered with some agencies. Swallow your pride and your chicken flavored soya noodle mix at the same time and get out into any job. McDonalds are good I believe.
You lazy, good for nothing benefit using waste of skin.

Work at any job you can, even if it's something you think will not look good on a future resume. Anything is better than gaps in your employment record, plus if you do well or get along well with the people, you will still have a good work history and maybe have some newer references for another job later on. Seriously, I don't know anyone who is happy without a job; what I mean is, those who want or need jobs tend to be very unhappy, not proud, because they feel inside they're not doing what they should. So you'll make yourself feel better when you're out there working and doing for yourself a little, even if it's not your favorite thing at first. Your outlook on life will improve. Good luck!

I would say that you went away for a little while/abroad that is why you have not been working. Then i would look online for help guide to write a really good resume/cv. Think of all the things you would like to do and all the things you are good at and go for it. When in interview find out about company and take a real interest, be confident and it will shine through!

If you are having problems finding work, go through an employment agency. These normally start you in a temporary position, and this can benefit you and the company you work for. It gives you the chance to show that you are a good employee to an employer who might not normally have hired you, as well as if they decide to keep you, then the training is already done. These places normally pay above the minimums as well. Have your resume ready, dress for success, and you will find something.

Im in the same boat as you are, it is difficult, but the first thing to do is redo your CV or resume to make sure it is set out right, there are plenty of websites out there that can advise you how to do this. And depending on the job you are aiming for make sure that any covering letters you send with your CV targets your skills and experiences for that particular job. Get into contact with a careers advice centre and get some coaching for interview techniques, job search tips etc.
Next thing to do is to register with employment agencies they can usually find something that fits your skills and experiences. But from my experience with employment agencies you have to bother them all the time otherwise they wont bother looking jobs up for you.
Oh and another thing if there are a large number of vacancies for a particular kind of work like call centre work you can usuallly get working within a week (from my experience) but I dont really want to do that kind of work anymore so I keep on looking.
Another thing are your skills up to date? Many jobs these days require us to be quite flexible in our roles with the exception of labourers. You may want to consider taking up evening classes to up date applications skills, typing that sort of thing.
THe only motivation tip I can find is just to keep going and if you get rejections dont take it to heart, it obvious that there are always people who are going to be more experienced than you are that will get the job.
Good luck.

Check the internet, check the newspaper, and apply at every place in your community. The more resumes and applications you have out there, the faster you will get a job.
Whne I was out of work, it took about 3 weeks, but I was putting out dozens of resumes and applications per week. I didn't hear anything for the firs 2 weeks, then the calls started to come in.

I would say that you need to look at what you are doing and how you are approaching potential employers. If you were a boss are you someone that you would want to employ? Are you trustworthy, do you present well at your interviews? ect... I just think it is always good to ask yourself those questions about yourself and correct anything that you come up with. Good luck I'm sure it will come your way soon. Just start believing that you will find what you are looking for

I know you need the money (been there), but you could try volunteering (maybe for as little as one night a week) to prove to yourself (and others) that you've still got skills, and you're prepared to learn new ones.

Sometimes you have to take a job that you think is beneath you and sometimes you try to get a better one. Trying all combinations will probably help. Go to monster.com for interviewing tips. And good luck, keep your chin up.
