Does the broken picture occur before getting to Windows? If so, it's a broken card. If not, restart the computer, tapping F8, to get to safe mode. Login, click yes to continue in safe mode. Go to start, control panel, system, hardware, device manager. Click plus sign next to display adapters. Right click on the display adapter, and click uninstall. Restart the computer. Same issue, then yes, it could be the video card. Try a system restore or system recovery if issue is slightly better but not perfect.

its a real shame your having problems with this card as its one of the best radeon cards
i know with some cards you can disable certain parts using the correct software, such as pixel pipelines and you can also lower the core speed to ease the pressure on the card
the x1800xl has a few differnet type of connectors on the back, try each one, even the dvi,and it may be that just the vga output is broken
with regards to under-clocking the card try using the a.t.i tool(http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/),this is a excellent utility for overclocking(and under clocking) any ati based radeon card, try lowering the clock speed from the x1800xl 500mhz g.p.u speed down to 450mhz and then check it,i would also lower the memory speed from its default speed of 1000mhz down to 900mhz,so set the sti tool to core clock=450mhz/core memory=900mhz
if this solves the display problem, then thats fine, but if not then lower again in 10mhz increments, and save the settings and test after every underclock
even if you have to lower the card to a speed of 400mhz gpu speed and 800mhz memory speed, this still equates to a excellent graphics solution, when you consider a x1050 card has a 400mhz gpu speed,ok its not going to set any records but its better than having to throw it away
most budget cards like the x1050 are really more powerful cards like the x1650 but didnt make the grade and rather than a.t.i throwing them in the bin ,if they get enough of these so called "failed" cards then they have a new line of cards, another example is the nvidia geforce 6600,cards that failed the production line tests eventually evolved into the nvidia geforce 6200 series of cards
give the ati tool a go and see how it goes,it cant do any worse damage, but remember underclock dont overclock
any problems let me know
good luck mate

The interated pics card is toast, and it may well be $$$$$ to replace, in all risk extra suitable than a sparkling workstation. you are able to upload an exterior pics adapter that connects by using utilising USB. No theory with regard to the overall performance, even nevertheless it would properly be adequate to maintain up. supply up dropping time with those stupid video games and get a female pal!

If its snapped or cracked over then connections, then its broke =p...

But it sounds like either it is broke, or the wrong drivers are installed. I think you can visit the radion site and download it.

If reinstallation of drivers do not work, try the "pencil eraser" technique. Rub the connectors w/ an eraser until they get shiny. Then reinstall. Sometimes it works, but if there is a bloated cap, it won't.

Microwave it!!!

You get a stunning lightening storm inside your microwave!!! It's fantastic!!!

WARNING:

Don't do this if you value your microwave, I've done it with no ill-affects. If it starts to smoke then switch off the oven by the plug and leave it to cool off. Card will be HOT on removal, and probably won't work any more :-P

I accept no responsibilty for injury or death caused....
