In my opinion...
You can probably get any mechanic to do simple maintenance like oil change or brakes. The main problem of owning a BMW in Malaysia is having access to parts at an affordable price. I get most of my parts from Singapore. Here's a list...

Bmw parts:
1) Eng Soon Auto Pte Ltd
Address : 1094 Serangoon Rd Singapore 328192
Telephone : 6291 7775
Fax : 6298 2670

2) Sin Guan Hin Auto Parts Co
Address : 24 Veerasamy Rd Singapore 207329
Telephone : 6293 0863
Fax : 6296 7648

3) Frankfurt Auto Trading Pte Ltd
Address : 38 Duku Lane Singapore 429335
Telephone : 6440 4375

4) Continental Motors (Pte) Ltd
Address : 356J Alexandra Rd Alexandra Centre Singapore 159949
Telephone : 6473 9322
Fax : 6338 2557

5) Goldenlink Auto Pte Ltd
Address : Blk 261 Waterloo St #01-40 Waterloo Centre Singapore 180261
Telephone : 6337 1133

Truthfully, I doubt you can find any "good BMW mechanic" in KL. I found that it helps a lot if you buy yourself a Bentley's or Haynes repair manual and learn the workings of the car yourself. It also serves as a very good reference for you when you feel your "BMW mechanic" is trying to rip you off blind!

I don't even trust the Auto Bavaria guys (because I own a CBU model not available in the market). I drive my car down to Singapore for major services. It is not difficult to find real talented mechanics who're honest there - just drive around any one of their "industrial parks" and look for garages where lots of BMWs are parked.

But the BMW Club Malaysia guys might be able to find someone good for you.
