According to Graham Hancock yes. It's the line of of the belt of Orion not all of Orion. When you see the pyramids from the sky and then look at the constellation you can see where he's coming from on this one. Therefore he's claiming that the structures in Egypt were actually claimed by them and either modified or just reused by the population. We may never know. We are more or less now certain how they built them but a lot of Graham's work is not looked on kindly by other scientists in the field.

I've read a lot of his stuff and some of this theories are quite believeable. He also claims that the detoriation to the side of the Sphinx of Egypt was due to water damage. However, we know that Egypt has been dry for centuries so was it really water or something else.

He claims to have shown a portion of this to a specialist in the field who claimed it was water damaged and then he revealed the rest of the picture and looked at the shock on his face.

Supposedly. Its the 3 stars that form the mid-section of Orion though. Some ten to twelve thousand years ago the constellation was the brightest and very near to the horizon, looking North. Obviously it was not the only constellation around at the time. The three stars that depict the belt are indeed, correlated to the pyramids.
The Sphinx is also facing the constellation Leo. It was the first constellation in the evening sky that the Astronomers noted during the summer solstice. Many thousands of years later, they are both high in the sky so were insignificant as the generations of astronomers star gazed. Today, only with the help of computers, can we trace the path of ancient skies. And with the Earth tilting around its 23.5 degree axis, this formation, or juxtaposition, will not be seen for another twelve thousand years. Fascinating though none the less.

They could quite easily be man made. The Egyptians built the pyramids to honor their pharaohs and to help them get to the afterlife. They were an incredibly resilient people. Many methods have been demonstrated that would allow the slaves to transport the material. Others have shown how they would have carved the materials. Others have shown how they would have stacked them and fitted them using notches. They were also very good at mathematics. They would have used the stars to calculate due North. They could line it up with sticks placed vertically in the ground. To level the pyramids, they probably built a moat around the area, and then leveled off the area inside so that the water was even with the surface at all points. I think one important thing you are missing is their incredible man power. Societies today would shy away from a task like that, but they did it for honor and that was extremely important. Another important point is that it took them a VERY long time to construct just one pyramid, at least 25 years, likely 30. Today's technology could create a pyramid, quite easily. However, we don't possess the drive to undertake such a task. No, our cranes wouldn't be much use, but you get a tractor trailer and build some ramps and you are good to go. The Egyptians were neither stupid nor lazy, and we should respect their incredible manpower and will rather than defer the greatness of to 'Gods.'

Given the way constellations move across the sky throuh the year and the way the earth rotates, you can pick those pyramids to line up with anything in the sky on a given day and a given time. There's nothing special. If they line up at 12:31 on Dec 12, they wont at 2:40 on the same night. It's just another fabrication.

The three main pyramids are placed in alignment with the belt stars of Orion. they are also in approximate size as the stars appear to be to the eye.. Every pyramid on the plateau is placed in representation of the constellation of Orion, which to the Egyptians was the celestial rep presentation of their God Osiris. In addition to this The constellation of Eridanus is said to be a representation of the Nile river.

The superstitious lot of astrologers, where so many ancient people did things in groups of 3 and unsuprisingly this is connected with the Orions belt constallation. It is easy to connect the two, there is such near perfection that it can't be assumed to be coincidence. So looking at the evidence, being preportion, relative distance and the number connection, we can safely assume that there is a connection.
