What was special about Vaughan's captaincy which has made people still willing to believe he should stay in the team as captain despite his poor form with the bat? What examples did Vaughan set? What positivity did Vaughan's captaincy have on the rest of the team, if any?

He batted poorly, but everyone else on the team is responsible for their own batting figures.
5 wickets for 10 runs can't be just because of Vaughan.
I'm sick of people just quickly blaming coaches and captains, the whole team is responsible for both a win or a loss!

It's a shame, but if he felt that his time had come then it was the right thing to do. As for his replacement, I hope to god that it wont be Pietersen, fantastic batsman that he is, his form can only suffer if he is made captain. Andrew Strauss maybe?? has done the job before and with some success, so he is a strong candidate, Rob Key has been out of the England set up for an awfully long time, could he be the man for the job?? he has done very well with kent as Captain but i wonder if he is good enough at test level?? could his lack of time in the England Set up be his biggest plus point?? after all there will be none of this "jobs for the boys" menatlity that is so prevelant in the current England set up Ian Bell, a possibility very much like Michael Vaughan with the willow in his hand, im not sure about his technical nouse. Cant just blame Vaughan,noone really played that outstanding for a while. The England captaincy seems to burden whoever gets it,personally i think Kevin Pieterson might be worth a try as captain,because hes more adventurous and unpredictable.

bcos.....he sometimes uses is head correctly........but there is another lefty who led the team agains pakistan in the absence of flintoff and vaughan he is a nice captain as well

1.It's his calm and composed attitude which had a positive inpact on the team.
2.The Ashes he won for England as a Captain created such a hype that people still believe he can do it.
3.The changes he brought about in the second ashes test match and manages to win it,meant that people started believing he coud do the impossible.

he will be removed as the captain very sooner following the England's exit in the world cup. he must be removed for his poor captaincy and poor batting.
