The only reason I know this is because one time when I was logging on to YA, on the main page where they have the celebrity questions at the top, they also sometimes have the YA yamster with tips and stuff. One time it said that to cut down on people who answer yes or no to questions just for the 2 points, that it would be considered a violation (as someone else answered earlier here: it doesn't add anything to the dialogue).
If you go back and look at some YA questions and answers from a few months ago, you'll notice that there are people with egregiously high points who answered alot of their questions with yes or no. I guess YA considers it to be like point gaming.

apparantly it' s not a valid or helpful answer. The trouble is, if somebody asks a yes or no question you can' t just say no, you have to elaborate.
I got a violation for saying lol to something that was just downright hilarious.
I also got a violation for asking how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood!!! I only wanted to know :'(

I got a violation for asking a question the other day. I was in the middle of a run of nightshifts (which finished at 8 am this morning) and I asked 'Will you please tell me to get off to bed?'
A fuun, inoffensive question I thought, it was removed and I got a violation.
Who knows how their minds work when you see some of the stuff that gets through.

There are some hyper-sensitive people on here. I got a violation for giving "h" as the answer to a question.

Someone doesn't like you and reported you. Yahoo just violates without doing research unless you contest it. Sorry you ran into a pr*ck.

Some idiots think they have power, by giving out violations. They think they really did something.

It may be for "gaming". That is submitting an answer for the sole purpose of getting 2 points.

Next time you get a violation notice just add it to your SPAM box. You won't get anymore!
