It is irrational, so it cannot be represented with finite number of decimal digits or as a fraction of two integers.
Here is an interesting way to calculate, used by Leibniz to calculate pi
pi=4 x [ 1 - 1/3 + 1/5 - 1/7 + 1/9 - 1/11 + 1/13 ....... ] .

Pi is an irrational number, and can not be calculated exactly. That is, there are no two numbers which when stated as an improper fraction will give the exact value. If you want a much better estimate than those given so far -- and one that is nearly as accurate as an 8-digit calculator will give -- try 355/113. This is accurate to the 6th decimal place.

The calculator value of Pi is 3.141592654 (10 significant figures)
The value 22/7 is just another estimate.
Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter;
Pi is derived because whenever the circumfrence of any circle is divided with its diameter, the ratio is always 3.14......
(Pi is also the Area of a circle/ radius^2, but it is impossible or extremely difficult to determine the are of a circle without using Pi.)
There is no exact value to Pi
The digits in the decimals in the value of Pi (3.14... blah blah) are totally random. there is no known pattern to their arrangment.

There is no pattern to the digits in PI.
We derive PI more acurately with morden computers and instruments which make smoother, more perfect circles.
(A circle having an infinite number of sides could have something to do with the randomness of the digits found in PI...)

pi = A/B.
This further means that there are no two integers (or rational numbers) O (circumference) and d (diameter) such that O/d is a number that satisfies your query.
