and the best way to clean them! I find mine builds up with residue (grease), and takes a lot of work to clean it off with a hob cleaner fluid I bought. Is there any product which will dissolve the grease EASILY!!!

I have a ceramic hob which I love but did have a problem getting it perfectly clean courtesy of my husband and son using it without cleaning up the splatters they had previously left resulting in the spills getting cooked on. I've taken someone's advice from a similar question and used a blade (I used one from a Stanley knife but without the Stanley knife so that I could hold at the correct angle). Obviously, you must be careful with this, but it's a breeze to take off cooked on food and splatters. Tilt the blade so you're not putting too much pressure on the glass and it will work wonders and it did not scratch the glass in any way. I've just tried it for the first time this afternoon then used Astonish Hob Cleaner and it looks 99% new! Another clean and it should look 100% new. Another cleaner I find excellent for hobs is Astonish Orange Cream Cleaner in the tub which works equally as well as the hob cleaner, in fact it's possibly better. I also use nice soft kitchen roll to dry off and polish up and it works brilliantly well leaving no smears. Good luck to everyone who tries this and hope it works as well for you. Also, thank you to the person who recommended this in the first place! : ))

Not that I know of..I'm not being patronising, but if you clean the hob every day with a hob cleaner you will find that the grease does not build up...the only thing I can think of to get rid of grease is hot water and soap, the burnt on stains will need hobrite or similar, don't use abrasives such as brillo pads etc.

Most new ceramic hobs are supplied with a blade in a handle for scraping off baked on residue. Try a hardware shop for one, or....http://www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=86938&brand=&model=%E2%88%82=

Use Hob Brite to get it clean initially, but then wipe over it every time you use it and you'll never have the problem again.

You can buy specialist cleaners, but they cost a fortune. They are just abrasive cleaners like the type you can buy for sinks and baths. I use these and they are great.
