See me and my boyfriend have had this friend whom we've known for a long time.
he recently went away to college but got kicked out cause of his grades and behavior.
last night my boyfriend went to church its a youth night type thing that they have been going to for a long time also
our friend was there and my boyfriend said he was acting different. like he was better than us.
he had 2 friends there from college, his little bro, and another friend whom my boyfriend does not like.
To us it seems like he puts on an "act" in front of his friends from college to try and make himself seem "cool"
why does he act like this when we have known him for a long time?

Is it possible that he told his college friends he got kicked out for something really daring to seem cool and he has to keep up this image? It sounds like he wants to be cool for his college friends and knowing you might hurt his reputation so he ignored you. You should ask him when he's not around his friends what it was all about to see if you can get the truth.

its a lil hard for ppl to know that they r projecting this kind of behaviour, in the first place... next maybe his close friends at the church wud have a lifestyle that is based on truth , which he is finding tough as he cannot share his faith with u,... being so close to him and not knowing the changes he has personally made , shows that he doesnt connect with u guys as he used to...
and here is one u pbly never thought of...here in church he has an identity apart from you...one that he likes...and he doesnt want ur friendship to change that for the present...give it time...some of us take a longer time-to grow up :)

That happens all of the time. People forget who their real friends are in favor of peer pressure. If they had not been there, he would have been real nice to you. Just understand that he will grow up, and realize that what he is doing is very immature.
