grammar is important but i focus more on the mesage than on the rules. spelling is very important when it comes to my mother tongue, i think at least one thing you should learn in school is how to spell. i make mistakes when it comes to english or french, but i guess everyone does. on here most of my mistakes are due to not paying enough attention to spelling. i don't use spell check.

the physique of recommendations in the direction of grammar and spelling seems to be like that they do no longer count, as long because of the fact the experience of what's being reported is communicated. unhappy because it is, that's an inevitable results of a commonplace decline in interpreting and writing, as damaging to observing. There does not seem any innate love of a language, and for this reason an urge to apply it properly. the respond then is that properly suited spelling and grammar has exchange right into a count of person determination.

Very important. Some people brag about their perfect English but they don't even know how to spell. Working in PR taught be to be strict when it comes to grammar and spelling, a letter represents the person who sent it. If the spelling is wrong, that definitely shadows your name.

Ohhhhh, *loud groan going on here*, well usually I am fairly precise with my grammar and spelling!! However, I have to admit that when I visit P & S I do tend to get a little bit lazy and do a bit of shorthand sometime!! Sorry!! .......... I guess, more to the point, I can only explain why by reminding you of the quote: "When in Rome, do as the Romans do"!!

In terms of formality, very important...especially at work.
But casually, like on Yahoo... not too important, but as long as what I've typed out makes sense

Its important, but not too important. As long as I know what the person was trying to say its ok.

Let's put it this way. I carry a pen with me wherever I go so I can make corrections to misspellings on restaurant menus, memos on bulletin boards at work, and graffiti on bathroom walls. I'm an absolute grammar nazi, and proud of it.

It's important if my future hubby is the future king. Wouldn't want to be look down by the royals you know........
But it's not important here in p/s as we are here for fun as long as you good people understand what i mean.
