An ordered arrangement (lattice) of the unit cells that r responsible for the building of the atomic system.
Crystals can be of different types according to the magnitude of different parameters. The examples of some types of crystals are cubic, tetragonal, orthorhombic, hexagonal, trigonal, monoclinic, triclinic etc. Cubic arrangement may be subdivided in Face centered cubic, Body centered cubic & simple cubic systems.

A crystal is a solid in which the constituent atoms, molecules, or ions are packed in a regularly ordered, repeating pattern extending in all three spatial dimensions.
The word crystals originates from the Greek word "Krystallos" meaning clear ice, and once referred particularly to quartz, rock crystal.
Most metals encountered in everyday life are polycrystals. Crystals are often symmetrically intergrown to form crystal twins.

Examples:
salt crystals: a cubic arrangement of sodium and chlorine atoms.
Diamond: only carbon atoms .
