Well every season there will be some new and unexpected plot twist which will be like foreplay without sex.
I like foreplay, but after a while I want sex.
So, just like the X-files, people will get bored with the whole concept after a few more seasons and the ratings will drop. Next thing you know the show is cancelled and there is no answer.
I think they will take it to the next level. So the others think they are experimenting on the survivors, but then they find others are experimenting on the others.
So don't expect really to get any answers. The real joy of lost is the back stories and how what we deal with today relates to what we did in the past.

They find the plane crash was just an illusion and their back stories false memories all powered by Desmond's mind and a Hieronymus machine. All the world's a stage and all the stage a world. The smoke 'monster' thats pulling peoples strings more than we know is finally freed from its slavery...rightful people get restored to their positions of power and two people get married in the end, Jack and Kate? Sawyer and Alex?

Apparently abc have paid for 9 series' of LOST so I'm guessing even the writers don't know how it finishes yet as we are currently in series 3.

Who knows? The writers have said it will run for4 seasons only. I would imagine the ending will evolve around a character who we havn,t seen that much of yet, and that is Penny, Desmond's girlfriend.
