This is a story we were told when I want to driving school years ago. It's supposed to be true.
A cop saw a man pass without his seatbelt, so he pulled him over. When he reached the car, the man was wearing it. The man argued with the cop, telling him he had it on all the time. The cop turned to the wife and said, “You wouldn't lie to me, would you? Did your husband have his seatbelt on?”
The wife looked at the cop and said, “Listen, I learned a long time ago not to argue with my husband when he's drunk!”

did this happen to you? I guess I'd tell the kid to be quiet while I got the citation. Then I would ask if mommy really said that to a police officer when she got pulled over.
