I recommend not doing it cause there's nothing wrong with long lips despite the jokes. The long ones are actually more fun to perform oral on. No guy is going to get there and then be turned off by them, I promise you, it's not that big a deal.

I have had the procedure done, had it done 10 years ago because I had a lot of irritation and pain from the excess skin there and I have had nothing but problems with the area since that surgery.

As for how much it costs that depends on the particular surgeon's fees and also whether or not your insurance will cover it because it usually classified as a cosmetic procedure done.

The recovery time is about 1-2 weeks on average but it took me about a month and I had a lot of pain from the procedure when it came to sitting. Going to the bathroom to urinate (until I started drinking a ton of water while I healed) irritated the area.

I would recommend that you pls have your dr check to see if you have a hormone imbalance that could be causing problems in this area.

On the whole though having long labia minora is normal. I would not recommend the surgery unless the long labia are causing you a lot of irritation and pain.

As for who will do it check with your gyn or you can talk to a Plastic Surgeon. You can check the American Board of Surgeons for info about drs in your area as well as the Board of Plastic Surgery. There is someone at UCLA that does these surgeries too but I don't have his name right now.

This surgery like all surgeries have risks but with an experienced dr they can be minimized. I ended up with nerve damage to the area that led to a condition called vulvodynia because of that surgery. I regret ever doing it.

But pls before you go ahead with surgery pls check to see if hormone imbalances are playing in to the issue with your labia minora.

Ok I've been asking this exact same thing for weeks & I have only met one understanding, educated friend that has gone through it all & it does'nt sound like such a good idea anymore after what I learned COULD go wrong.Still, this right now is my biggest insecurity I'm dealing with about my body & having someone that knows what I'm talking about purely from a cosmetic point of view to discuss it would be great. Please, please IM or E- mail me it could help us both! Have a great day!Me! :)
