There are a lot of things you can try:

1. If you have kids, then make a sand pit for them to play in by filling in with some very fine sand.

2. Fill in with soil and some large rocks to create a garden rockery; you can then plant a wide range of interesting and colourful plants in the gaps between the rocks.

3. Fill in with earth and create a shrub bed or border for flowering plants; you could even put in a few small trees to creat a small grove. This will give an attractive island effect in the middle of your garden

4. Fill in and build over the top of it: maybe a patio, or arbour or seating area.

you can make a really good compost in it.. buy a tarp, and keep it covered, just throw leftover foods, banana peels, any type of food under the tarp in the hole, and it will make the best fertilizer, if you go fishing, bring the whole fish home with you, after you clean it, throw the stuff you don't eat into the compost, under the tarp.. just throw some weights on the edges of the tarp to keep the tarp there.
thats one idea..

if you want it just filled in, throw some dirt in there, and some fertilizer on top, and plant some more plants there, or a small rock garden to hype up the rest of your garden.

you can also build a gazebo there, or put 2 decorative benches there, across from each other, and an outdoor table in the center, for a hangout area.

That figures roughly into a 1200 + gallon pond...Garden ponds are especially popular now,why not keep it as a pond? Fill it with water, plants,
necessary filters and skimmers, UV lights for algae. Add some gold fish, rather than koi unless you plan to make it bigger. Koi grow too large.
If you do put koi in no more than 2. then you have to add a aerator/air pump because koi need lots of oxygen. You can enjoy the wildlife that it attracts. Frogs, dragon flies, birds, rabbits and even snakes.
Do the snakes eat the fish you ask? They have never eaten any of mine. They are garter snakes, and occasionally they do swim in my pond.

the ideal thank you to do it truly is to easily use water out of your gardening hose. It has the comparable quantity of chemical compounds as your faucet water and it will take much less time to fill. yet another technique in case you pick your pond to be up as quickly as achievable is to replenish some pots with water and produce them to a boil. as quickly as the water has reached boiling factor each and every of the risky chemical compounds have been eradicated. I did this for my pond as a results of fact i became into too annoying to attend! i'm hoping you get exhilaration from your new pond.

Why not think outside the square and make a water garden. You could put some soil in, then some water and plant some of the beautiful water plants. You dont need a lot of water but you do need to keep it damp.
