I think when you condone something, you are accepting it. If you were only coping with it, then you wouldn't be condoning it, you'd only be putting up with it.

condoning contains the patronizing, egotistical implication that you have the right to judge a thing. Where you truly do have the right to judge (as with your minor child, and at few other times), then you probably have the responsibility to judge as well. In this case, condoning is accepting and approving.
coping doesn't really enter into it.

If you do not have the right to judge (which is most of the time, with nearly everyone), then its inappropriate to even be thinking in terms of condoning or not condoning. Either accept it or accept the consequences of rejecting something you don't have the right to judge.

When you "condone" something it means that you are agreeing with whatever is happening.

For example, if you "condone" the beating of Rodney King (which I hope to god you don't) then that means you would agree with the police's actions in ruthlessly beating him.

Another example, if you "condone" the life of homosexuality then that means you agree with it.

It is quite a strong word and shouldn't be used if you do not feel passionately about something.

Death and taxes I accept as inevitable..well taxes you might be able to slide on (for awhile).
I do not accept or condone child abuse, laziness or lack of respect. On those subjects I can be quite vocal.
So now that I am confused.. I will just have to cope with it.
Not sure if this helped any...just my opinion..

To condone is to overlook or forgive(an offense) by treating the offender as if he/she had done nothing wrong.
Answer to your first question is "Yes" to both.
Answer to your second question there is no point if you have no mind in the matter. Now if you do mind then maybe that's what should matter.

you are accepting the situation
I am not sure what is the point then because basically you are not prepared to deal with the situation rather just accept it
