Dysentery is normally caused by an amoeba.

Amoebae can be found in antelope's blood - eating raw meat would cause infection.

Vitamin C is vital for your immune system. Having a deficiency would make you more vulnerable to infection.

Dysentery is generally caused by a bacteria (eg Shigella sp.) or amoeba, resulting in really bad, bloody, diarrhoea. I have never heard of antelope blood or vitamin C having a connection to it.

The only cause I know of dysentery if fording the river in "Oregon Trail"
