Go to this website and download this free software. It is absolutely safe.
I use it every day to clean up my computer, you will be surprised how much junk it gets rid of including what you wanted.

Well your internet history is logged in different places. Your Webcache keeps all your downloads and flies. However, your browser history also keep tracks of the website url you visited and the forms you filled in this is known as the Autocomplete. History. Depending on which browser you are using the delete instruction may be different.

Also cookies may have to be dealt with differently. Here is a link to a site that will show you how to clean everything up.

not completely sure I follow , but , if you're in windows try tools>internet options>delete cookies, delete temp files (check the offline box), delete history. I hope this helps , you can also use search on your pc to find your cookie folder & delete from there , but beware yoiu might delete something you need , so go to the sites you still use and record all your needed logins & passwords. give your login & say forgot password , save the answers in a file in email.
I hope this helps
