i'm am makeing an outdoor enclosure and i wanted to know how much water to land i already know how much water i need (1 inch 10 gal min) and filters & pumps, hiding spots, shades spots etc. but how much of it should be land. the pool is about 6 feet across. i was thinking of a 9 x9 box like thing. and i was wondering if more or less land was needed.

refer to here for more info. (another question about the enclosure)

it's for an easern painted and a RES.

please no comments on not to mix them together. i know that. there would be more than enough room for both and later this summer i'm going to take out a wall and add another deeper water area too. and rebuild the wall around it, so....

but if any one has a good educated guess it would be appreciated

well if centered that's 1 1/2 ft around it. kinda small. but if you put it ina corner then two sides have 3 feet with grass and you could plant lettuces and such for them to eat later this summer.
