Im still a teenager but I think I should use an eye cream because lately the skin around my eyes are very dry and rough and I have dark circles under my eyes. For now I'm using vaseline around my eyes. What eye creams can I use that don't have retinol and aren't for fine lines, or is what I'm doing now fine?

Hi! I am almost 18 and i decided to use an eye cream a few years ago. It really is a good idea, so many people swear that the best beauty advice is to diligently use an eye cream from the age of 15! It will leave you with great eyes when your older I guess we'll find out...
Anyway, i invested in Dove Energy Glow brightening eye cream, cause i didn't want a cream that was for combating lines or whatever. This one works really well to smooth the area around the eye, and brighten it so it can sparkle too!
Use it before bed or after a shower. If using it under makeup, wait a few minutes til its dry before you put anything on it.
I hope this helps!

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

avon's mark line has an eye cream targeted for preventative care. i just got mine last week, so can't say anything about results but it does really moisturize the eye area. it leaves the skin feeling really supple and soft. it's only $6 but the jar is tiny 0.05 fl. oz

mary kay has great under eye creams. the earlier you start using them...the better. it will reduce the visible lines you already have, and prevent a lot of them for the future. like i said, the earlier you start using them, the more you will benefit from the product;)
