Yes! Being a banquet waiter I have met many famous people.
The nicest celebrity I ever met was Gary Coleman. He was a delight to wait on.
The biggest jerk....: Joe Jackson. Treated me like trash and didn't leave a tip. I got him drinks several times which we don't usually do during banquets. He'd pull out this outrageous wad of money, I'd bring him his change and he even kept the nickels.

When I was little I met "John Provost".. Timmy on Lassie and got his autograph.
As for a relative depends on what you call famous.. There is a poet who is famous and of course his name slips my mind but he wrote a poem about one of my early relatives as they were coming over on the Mayflower.

They're not that popular, but the group is called Strata. Me and my best friend met them at the winter-fresh concert in 2004 (Trapt, Finger Eleven, and Smile Empty Soul) They were the opening act. We saw them after their set and they came and rocked out in the crowd with us while Trapt played. They were really cool guys, and they played their hearts out. I hope they do make it big!

Yes I met Randy Travis, I was driving cab in Lethbridge Alberta, and I got him for a fare, when he paid for the ride he asked me if I took US money and of course I did , but I don't give the exchange. at that time I did not realize who he was, till I had to go back to pick him up for his return ride to his bus, that's when I realized who he was, so I got a signed photo autograft from him.
