I was sent closeyoureyes.pps, it will not open, what is it?

Someone sent me this e-mail attachment and it will not open. What is closeyoureyes.pps?

pps is the file extension for PowerPoint. It may be (and probably is) a virus. If you've already tried to open it, you've downloaded the virus and what you need to do is get yourself a virus checker/cleaner to take care of it.

If you do not have powerpoint and you can trust the sender of the email then go to this download site. It is a free powerpoint reader from Microsoft.

If you have any doubts about the content of the email then either a virus check or delete the downloaded file.
