I have one, its a amd athlon live x64 dual core, and i love it. I've only bought hp's. I do have a sony viao laptop, only because i wanted a sony at the time, but as far as desktops, depending on what you buy, hp is the best way to go. Dont get celeron processors, you are wasting your time.

i have had 3 in a row, all are very good. I would recommend a HP over a dell anyday. HP has better customer support, dont let others tell u otherwise. dollar for dollar HP will beat a dell. dells tend to be cheaper because they use cheaper parts which dont hold up in the long run. HP uses name brand quality parts and it shows. go to http://cnet.com and read reviews and that will help. i would put HP at the top of your list for mainstream PCs.

Depends which models you choose. I never used HP before in my life. But I think they're way better than Dell. I usually use IBM/Lenovo, and they're very lasting with good circulation of airflow, keeping dust out = making PC live long.
