Islam is a VERY conservative culture... To be a "liberal" Iraqi- is like being a Reagan Democrat. That's why we don't understand that part of the World very well. Even Bush looks like a "flaming" radical leftist to THEM!!! :)

well in Islam good and bad is usually depicted by right and left(by Islamic doctrine a person, on judgment, will get his good deeds in his right hand and his bad deeds in his left hand in the form of a document ) so people usually think that if you get in to left wing then it will be a bad thing.

Islamic religion is fundamentalist in nature. They believe in Allah and would like others to follow their faith. Leftists are atheists and totalitarians in nature advocating usurp of money and property.
