I saw a previous question posted in the sam format. Who would you want to have lived? I saw a few posts in favor of 2pac,lol. I admit, Tupac Shakur wrote some pretty heart felt poetry in his time, but the music part promoted violence and his so called quote on quote"thug life" another lol. Cobain turned his poetry into his music, unlike the latter.

If Tupac translated his poetry from a book that i read many years back, then perhaps my opinion would have been different.

I was just curious to what answers i would get. Cobain was in a category of his own. Would be better to compare Shannon Hoon to Layne Staley.

Plead your case, don`t just say yoyoyo in support of tupac. If you`re going to argue that he doesnt deserve the title because he killed himself, then you`d have to involve Tupac, because Tupac instigated his own death. He asked for his ultimate demise. I swear, trying to hold a conversation with people can be the same as trying to play poker with Corky from Wonder Years.

Cobain...no comparison at all! He was a far more talented lyricist and musician.. Tupac was just another rapper in my opinion, a very overrated one.

Kurt Cobain in deed!! He was one of main reasons why I want to be a rock star in the first place. Besides, I hate rap!

I say Tupac. I am a person who listens to all kinds of music not just rap. you say that Tupacs music promoted violence but in his defense he was trying to get away from the violence and drama in his life. His lyrics do have meaning. And truly to me as well as others was indeed poetry. Also Tupac was murdered Cobain committed suicide so apparently his poetry didn't mean that much to him so why should it mean to that much to others?

it like comparing cats and dogs. two completely different entities and styles. they were both very talented in their respective genres. Cobain was a more talented lyricist.

May sound cruel, but it really isn't all that tragic that both are gone. They both played significant rolls in their own death's, either by doing it themselves, or instigating their own murder, and for some reason they have turned into martyrs. For what, writing bad music, or is it the drug use?
