It is normal. You get like that mostly a few weeks before labor starts. You are trying to get everything ready for the arrival of the baby and you don't even realize you are doing it. Congrats on the baby.

Definitely get those books that rastl74 mentioned!! They are WONDERFUL! Read ahead and you will never feel unprepared.

It's called nesting and it means you are preparing to become part of this whole other super species that unites certain members of every species on Earth: Mommy.
Have you ever watched birds go absolutely nuts collecting only the nicest grass, leaves, bits of trash and whatever else they deem acceptable to "properly" line a nest for their eggs? Ever seen a mama cat search in vain for that perfect spot to lay her litter?
Just don't wear yourself out. I know many will say to make the daddy-to-be pitch in and do some work, but when you reach this stage, his work is unacceptable. He won't scrub the counter the right way. He will use the wrong toothbrush to scrub the baseboards (that was my fixation: those darn baseboards...go figure). You keep nesting and make him cook and run errands.
PS
Whe your back is aching, somehow getting down on your hands and knees and hand mopping the floor really helps. Who'da thunk it!

Its called nesting and every soon-to-be mother goes through it!! Except I did it my whole pregnancy, I was so excited I thought I had to have every new outfit washed and ready to wear, the crib made up (even though at first they use the bassinet),as soon as I bought some bottles I went straight home and boiled them even though I was still 2 and a half months away from my due date, I even made my boyfriend buy a carseat when I was only 5 months along!!! I wanted everything in its place so when the baby came and I was tired and cranky I didnt have to worry about not having a onesie to put on my daughter because they were still in the package!! Its a mothers way of knowing its almost time and that you should have as much done as possible before hand!!Good luck and have fun with your new little one!!

I think it is normal for the baby to move less and less as you get closer to term. But if your concerned in any way consult your doctor. You are probably going in for checkups pretty close together right now, like every week? Sorry its been 8 years since my youngest was born. But your doctor can check the heartbeat and if your having any abnormal symptoms report it right away. Your baby is growing and there is less room for it to move around. But I remember when i layed down mine where always more active, when your up and about its like a rocking sensation that puts them to sleep (why babies like to be rocked). So just relax, have a snack. And lay down for a while, keep track of all its movements from the first movement you feel for an hour after, And ask your doctor. I looked for other questions like yours and the answers where the same as what i was thinking..

Your nesting. Oh I remember this. I feel so sorry for my husband now that I look back on it. Nothing could get clean enough. I scrubbed everything. My hubby was afraid to even walk through the house. I even Ironed the pillowcases.

Nesting. Your body's telling you to get everything ready for the new baby. That means it'll be soon, so if anything last-minute needs done, get it done now!!! Nesting usually happens withing a week or two before the birth!!!! Congrats, and good luck!

Its a normal animal thing, a female dog about to give birth will scratch out a nice dark clean round space for her to have labour. You are preparing the house for the arrival of the baby, its a psychological thing.....a bit of anthropomorphism here?

I believe that this is called "nesting". It happens to women...and men surprisingly... as the baby's birth draws nearer. There are some great books on being pregnant and for the first couple of years after pregnancy at this site:

They come highly recommended.

Nesting...perfectly normal...all species do it to some extent. Isn't it nice to know that on the planet we can litterally say..bee's do it, birds do it and even fleas do it and so do you do it. LOL

Have a great end to your pregnancy and God Bless:)
