I believe after either 48 or 72 hours a broken bone starts to heal, mending itself at whatever angle it is still touching the rest of the bone.
get a broken bone treated ASAP in order for it to be set properly and grow back without a possible deformity

a suspected fracture should be evaluated within 24 hours.
the bone will heal on it's own but if not set correctly-could heal deformed, causing the bone to need to be re-fractured and set correctly.
a fracture could also restrict bloodflow the the rest of the arm, leg,or other parts of the body depending on where the fracture is located. this could become a very serious medical situation.
it's best to have it checked out so xrays can be taken to determine what kind of fracture and how to treat it.

the sooner the better. at least get an xray to make sure you dont need surgery. i fractured my tibia(shin) a couple years ago and didnt go to the doctor. a couple weeks ago i fractured it again because it didnt heal properly, so i might have to have surgery where if i had treated the original fracture i might of had to just wear a brace for a couple weeks. depends on the bone also.

Go to the doctor immediatly. Broken bones start to heal very quickly. You dont want it healing the wrong way.
