The tragedy at Virginia Tech affected mostly affluent white people - Katrina hit and devastated poor (mostly) black communities. No, you are not the only one who noticed. Bush doesn't need poor blacks or whites - he does need the rich ones on his side though.

Hurricane Katrina? He contacted Mayor of Louisiana and Govern and warned them but the Mayor and Govern both said they have the situation handled and it will be ok, will not be that bad. No one at all knew it would be all that devastating. And besides, it was A NATURAL DISASTER! He kept telling them to evacuate the city, amazing how everyone forgets everything that happens before and use something like a hurricane to make the President look bad. Remember the buses that were under water that no one got on to leave the city because they decided to stay while a hurricane was mapped out to hit where they lived? First off, what kind of people stays in the city while a hurricane is coming? It does not take a genius to think of what a hurricane can do damage wise and to still stay there?! And now, now you are complaining that he showed up to the Virginia University to show sympathy? Nice logic there, buddy.

President Bush and Laura Bush were at Va. Tech today just as they should have been to mourn for all the dead and to help the Tech Family.
I think plenty of help was given to New Orleans. Blame the Mayor for all the problems and not Bush.

Well, prayers (or claims thereof) don't cost anything. Not only that, but also, there have been mostly white people been killed in VA and those are the voters and campaign contributors he is after. Black people do not count to Bush. On the contrary, the majority of black people vote democratic, so the more of them die, the better for Bush.

Bush declared the Katrina disaster before the city flooded; it was the local governments that delayed action.
And surely you didn't want him to interrupt the urgent rescue and relief work by making a Presidential photo op early on? He would have been righteously criticized for doing that!
The VT crisis was over when he went there, the dead counted and the wounded taken care of.

Honestly. Put yourself in his shoes. What the hell DO you do? That city (and area!) is HUGE. where do you start? where do you get the MONEY to start?
At VA Tech, the killer is dead. And it happened in one school. It was all contained in ONE SCHOOL. and 33 people compared to the ENTIRE city and are of new orleans is pretty damn different.
you're not examining these two situations, they hardly have any parallels at all. you're examining whether you like bush or not, and are looking for reasons to bash him. :)

If the Louisiana elected officials didn't know - how could President Bush ? He's just a man . No super-human powers ; but he does the best one man can do .. Things happen in the U.S. , like the weather ..despite liberal thinking which dictates man rules the weather .
I wondered how long it would take libs to berate condolences for the dead ..Now I know .

No. Between you and me (and the rest of the Internet), I think he is a horrid President. However, your kid's history books won't say that. They'll say that he was a hero. My ***. And now, I might get labled a terrorist for saying that. Oh God. I think I see FBI at my door.
Blessed Be.
