I think that us gays and lesbians should be able to marry, adopt, run business, grow old together, and be happy all of our days together, like straight couples. I know that I have painted a pretty picture, I know that straight couples have there problems too. Why would someone who is in a relationship, who knows all of the problems and hardships already, would add to that bu telling us that we are not normal. I think that if the GLB&T community came together with the people who have no problem with gay rights, alot of good can be accomplished.

I will be totally honest with you.. I have 2 friends that are gay and personally i see nothing at all wrong with it.. Actually one of them i have known for 15 years now and he was actually afraid to come strait out and tell me cause he didnt know how i would react..
You are the way you are.. If your gay good for you.. If your lesbian good for you.. If your strait good for you.. I believe it goes for everyone!!
Personally i am strait, but i dont see what is so different in someone that is not strait..
Gay's and lesbians should be able to get married.. If we are able to then why can you..
There is a statment that says "We are all created equal" and i dont know why we cant be treated that way??
I totally agree with the second part also, that we should be able to come together as a society to allow marriages, but there are so many people out there against it that it is pretty sickining...
Our own president is against it so how does anyone have a chance..
Ya know i have brought up the subject of "freedom of speech" on yahoo answers alot lately because there really isnt any anymore.. It is getting ridicilious that you have to watch what you say every minute of the day.. For example the whole Don Imus issue.. I think that was wrong too..
I think everyone has equal rights and let us all use them equally!!

That is a great thought - however, our nation was unfortunately founded on Protestant/Puritan religious beliefs that still carry over today. While we may like to claim our politics doesn't mix with religions, it's hard not to see differently when every president has happened to be Christian (white and male, too). When people run for office, even Senate or Congressional seats, we see photo opts taken while they're at church or leaving a service or those sorts of things - adding to the notion of how important those kinds of things are to the country at large. In the end I wish I could say the religious right didn't have a grip on this nation, but alas, it does.

becuz... ppl sometimes and most of the times are so selfish... and.... "world peace" will never exist... gay's will be a minority as long as... straight ppl will consider them like this..... we are the same and that's why most ppl don't agree with it.... marriages, adoptions, etc.... there are some places were they have rights... and places than they don't.... it will be years until gay ppl will have the same rights and won't be treated as freaks... and i don't thinks that i will live to enjoy it.... but if we struggle... maybe some1 else will enjoy... it...

because even though most of us are fine with it we're not the ones in charge. all we can do is try to change the way things are by voting the intolerant out of office.
hopefully that will be soon.
