Yes. Good news: the penalty for filing late is a percentage of what you owe. As you owe nothing, you won't pay a penalty. Not filing, however, might delay your refund or cause you grief during a future tax year.

If you earned money last year, you need to file taxes. Regardless of whether you're owed a refund or not.
The only difference the refund makes is that you won't have any penalties for filing a few days late.

you will not get any refund back if you don't file tax. Is like...the IRS would not know that they have to give you a refund without letting them know. So, do file before midnight. Good Luck.

If you are receiving a refund you do not have to file right away although you will need to file before you do the next years. The only reason you have to pay a pentalty is if you owe them. Although I would advise filing asap because you are giving the IRS an intrest free loan.

Of course. Merely being due a refund doesn't let you off the hook for filing.

Everyone who makes more than a certain amount of money is required to file a tax return. Even if you didn't meet that minimum earnings test, why would you not file if you are going to get money back?

Yes - depending on your income you might not be required to file, but if you don't you won't get your refund.

if you are due a refund, please file a return. if you did not make a certain amount of money, you can get ectra back on top of what they owe.
if you want to just give money away like that, contact me. i will take it off your hands.
also you might want to adjust your amount of dependents claiming one instead of zero, for example). that way, you get more in your pcket every week instead of waiting all year, and asking questions such as this one.
