The Dodgers moved to California from Brooklyn, and the Angels technically are based in Anaheim. It's a large enough population to support both teams even though they're relatively close together.

First of all, the Los Angeles Angels of Anahiem are not from LA. Only Arte Moreno thinks that they are.

The Angels were an expansion team that were originally owned in part by Gene Autrey, and they played their first season or two in Dodger Stadium. After that they moved to Anahiem and became the California Angels until they were bought by Disney and became the Anahiem Angels. When Arte Moreno bought the team, he renamed them the Los Angeles Angels of Anahiem to capitalize on the team's proximity to Los Angeles.

Same reason Chicago has 2 baseball teams, and New York has 2 Baseball and Football teams. All have large enough markets to support 2 teams. New york was able to support 3 baseball teams until the 50's. (Giants, Dodgers, Yahkees)

The Angels are technically in Orange County. However, the reason we have two teams so close to LA is because Southern California is the best place to play baseball and the people in the area show up to the games. We have a huge population and we love baseball.

They don't, the Angels are still from Anaheim but our great owner thought it would be nice to change the name to LA. The reasons for it were: Because he says not many people know Anaheim, and that putting LA in front of it will bring in more money for him to spend on his club and to bring in tourists. I don't care what he calls it, as long as he puts a winning product that I can be proud of I will continue supporting my team.

There was a fight between Moreno and the City of Anaheim which was brought to court, which the city of Anaheim lost. So now they are called the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim rather than the Anaheim Angels.

I just don't see how is it that it's not noticeable. Disneyland is in Anaheim, the Ducks are in Anaheim, and then you got the Angels. All I see is that Moreno is making money off this, and many Angel fans are still bent out of shape about it.

they actually are not interior a similar city. I stay in Orange County the place the Angels play. there's a pair of two hour distance between the two stadiums. it is form of equivalent to the San Fransisco and Oakland each and every having a collection. there grew to become into and nonetheless is a sprint bit controversy and resentment with the including of la to the Angels call. Orange County is extremely diverse that l. a. and an excellent form of Angel followers discover themselves to represent a various area than the Dodgers.

Even though they are both not exactly in "Los Angeles', L A is big enough to support two teams, just like Chicago and New York.
