Actually, if I am forced to choose, I will choose do evil. People might think i am a coward, so be it. It might turn out that more than 3 quaters of us are also cowards, so there are just a handful of people who would suffer than inflict. Of course, I will never intent to do evil on my on will, thats for sure. But if I am absolutely forced to, then of course, I would inflict. Might be selfish, but better him/her than me. So I dont believe that is true, at least not for the majority of the population. People might say they would rather indure evil, but really.....if someone comes in yoru house with an axe, and you have a chance to send the axe somewhere else, wouldnt you do it? Most people would. If you can suffer evil instead of doing it, I salute you, you are braver than me....

evil is so relative to your own personal mindset that this question can't really be accurately be answered, though here goes:

To suffer 'evil' would mean to have something done to you that you perceive as evil. This evil, this thing that goes contrary to your personal beliefs, is unacceptable by your mind, and is thus charged as being evil.

To do evil to someone could be doing something that you perceive as good, but it runs against what they think, so they think it was evil. ie, talking about capitalism to an anarchist. The other half is you doing something that society deems as evil, and thus you do. Generally things you do that you think of as evil, as only things that would manly benefit you, but would run contrary to what society wishes you to do. Thus you break from a mold, and society deems you as evil, shunning you. But we as a people desire a sense of belonging, so thus we adopt the ideologies of the society around us so that we can assimilate better and not be singled out for excommunication. So doing something evil, like stealing from a grocery store, even when you have no food, may be needed by you, but society deems it as evil, and thus you do.

So to answer your question, which is better/ I would say to have evil done against you, for when that happens, you can see why it is 'evil' and whether it is your belief or that of society that forces you to decide.

good luck!

Because to do evil one must be evil. To suffer evil, one may be either evil or good. Even though I don't believe in Heaven or Hell or a God that judges, I do believe in Karma. Even if Karma doesn't catch you in this life, it will in the next. It is always better to suffer evil than to actually be evil.

Do unto others as they would do unto you. I would not start evil, but if evil comes to me I will destroy it on the spot. No, I would not suffer evil, nor would I allow it to make my loved ones suffer in the least.

If I do evil, I'm evil. If I suffer evil, I may be righteous or just foolish, but I'm not participating in evil. For a man who has faith without religion, it sounds like I'm worried about my soul, doesn't it!

Even though the pain that comes from having evil done unto to you is horrible, I'd rather have that than being the one causing pain to others.

well that would depend if you believe in some sort of after life or cosmic pay back, then you're going to be careful about what you do and maybe be a little pholosophical about the whole deal ie.May be God wills it
But If you don't,well go hard and knock yourself out.
.....So I'm guessing, you pays your money and you takes you're chances..........
