All the other school shootings in America, were they also "idiots from South Korea"?
And what about "Oklahoma City"? McVeigh was as American as apple pie. Do you know the USA has the highest amount of serial killers in the world?
And a reality check, the American education system really isn't so great anymore.
I think the USA is amazing and wonderful. I can't wait to get back to spend more time there. I watched CNN international as much as I could these past two days. My heart goes out to all these terrified kids I saw at the Convocation and the people who have lost loved ones.
But you need to open your mind a bit - foreign students have nothing to do with this tragedy. That whole place is full of foreign students - they are what makes Virginia Tech.

Because if we did that the rest of the world would whine and moan about how we wont let them come over to get an education and they might be forced to make their governments do something to better their standard of living. The US need to take everyone off the tittie and stopped handing out aid to everyone on gods earth and let them fend for themselves like they used to have to do. The countries that get the aid don't use it for the people and that makes the average person in those countries even more pissed at us because we are helping their sorry governments. The US hands out more aid to nations around the world than any other country yet we get more **** from everyone about how we don't do enough. The US sent the most aid to the Tsunami victims. Where was the rest of the world when Hurricane Katrina Hit? Except for the Brits I didn't hear of anyone.

I don't think we should quit allowing students from other countries to come to America for college. Its not like we get to hear about the thousands of foreign college students every year who go on to be wonderful, successful people. The only thing I find unfair about it is at the university I attended they built a few new dorms a little while back. They were are relatively nice for dorms, but the dorm for the foreign students was so much nicer than the rest. I thought that was a little crappy but that's not their fault. I see no reason why we shouldn't continue to allow foreign students in our schools. Americans are just as able to commit heinous crimes as non Americans.

That is the most ignorant question ever posed. First of all the American education system sucks, it is only higher education that is sought by others. Our society is over stuffed with people that cannot speak English or do simple math. Americans are spending money on consuming all the material things they can gather not on educating ourselves or our loved ones.
If it were not for the many foreign students in our colleges and universities, then most Americans would not have anyone to cheat off of.

I perfectly agree with UKDAME. Besides...
1) They guy came at age 8 so he was mostly educated in American society...
2) Since he had green card he was officially American and not foreign student.
3)Its mental illness doesnt have anything to do with the place he was born.
4) What about the professor Librescu who also was born in other country and he is a hero? What about other students of all races who died innocently?

The word universal can be derived from University. One of the strengths of the university system is its capacity to go beyond borders and cultures and to speak a language (the language of knowledge and reason) which any human can learn. Research in the United States has been made stronger for the presence of brilliant foreign minds. Knowledge wold be stifled by isolationism.
Barricading the United States is not the answer. Besides, it's not like we don't have plenty of home-growns.

Letting our students mix with students from other countries is an extremely healthy thing. How else can understanding between countries begin? It helps people know that basically people all over the world have the same goals and aspirations as Americans do. We are much too ethnocentric.

Tell that to Native Americans. You foreigner.
Getting into college is competitive process. If you don't want to see foreigners then tell American kids to out compete them. Tech companies wouldn't be recruiting from other countries if we have enough smart kids to fill in those jobs.
No wonder our country is slowly falling behind with ignorant 'rednecks' calling for stupid actions.
This question is exactly why French are calling Americans stupid, and why more and more people around the world look at us like we're bunch of cowboy hicks.
I knew we should have kicked out every white people after Oklahoma bombing.

You are stereotyping here. And tons of people go to other countries for their education. They don't only go to America. Lots come to Canada, universities in Europe. I think you are being an extremist here and as the person above stated it is hard to take your question seriously.

just because they are born somewhere else i dont believe should mean they have to stay out of america. dont get me wrong i hate overcrowding, but when God created the earth or the big bang or whatever you believe in , i dont think they expected their to be rules of who could go where. And you cant assume that just because they are foreign they are going to fly a plane into a building, those kind of assumptions cause world wars.
