on saturday night (march 31st) our condom broke, (april 2nd) i took plan b.

the following saturday (april 7th) i started what seemed like my period. saturday(april 7th) and sunday(april 8th) i had a light period. about half a tampon full after 12 hours. (sorry for tmi...) then every day after that its just been much less than a period in full swing but still small amounts of red and tissue blobs also... is this my period? it stopped in the afternoon on thursday (april 12th)

its about a week early if it is. but its a hell of a lot more than implantation bleeding from what i've read. i read that its spotting and should be dark pink to brown for no more than 3 days.. early period? or just irregular bleeding from plan b?

am i safe? or do i sound pregnant-ish?

oh-- and also, i was supposed to start taking birth control (for acne) starting after my next period. well, i went on the 4th to get the birth control but i DID NOT start it the sunday after this bleeding happened. because i wasnt sure if it was a true period or just random bleeding. was that the right thing to do? to wait til the next period?

OK, relax. You're NOT pregnant. Plan b gives your body a high dose of hormones that causes your uterus to shed it''s lining early....hence your early period. And this won't be a 'normal' period, since it was forced by the plan b, so lighter or heavier is possible.

And, if you were pregnant, plan b won't make you have a misscarriage, so you would have skipped if you were. Plan b has some waky side effects also, so you might get a little nausea and your skin could break out. But no big deal, it all passes soon.

Hope this was helpful!!

i think you are safe. the bleeding is after the use of plan b. and you are supposed to bleed about few days after taking it. it's like withdrawal bleeding from the pill, it takes 2-7 days after taking it and you'll bleed. it's because of the hormones in plan b that your uterine lining is shed.

Your symptoms don't sound like you're pregnant. You could get OTC pregnancy test to be sure.
