I wonder if you have any suggestions -- I'd like it to be in the state of California because that's where I live but ANY colleges named will be considered.

Well, the veterinary school is at UC Davis & there are lots of opportunities for an undergrad to get experience working with animal health & a very good Bio Sci program as well as other bio sciences in the college of Ag Science.
