does this sound too depressing

You’ll remember when I’m dead
By: Shelby Hutto

Here I go
It’s a black abyss
There isn’t a thing that I will miss
This is my place
My time for this

It is my own
My sweet escape
The grief will be over you
Like a dark, dark drape

I’m ready now that I’ve written this note
I think that it’s my time to go
I hold the gun
And from behind the door
I hear you scream “no!”

But you’re too late
You’ve missed your cue
But at the end of the tunnel
I’ll wait for you
Oh wait I forgot
Your “soul mate” will be there too
Anxiously, anxiously waiting for you

Uh huh, yeah she’s gone too
Was it because of me?
Or because of you?

Hard to say. Depends on who reads it. As long as you don't consistently hand in dark work like that you should be find, but if it is the norm they might start to question it.

To me , it sounds like the typical teenagers poetry.
Suicide is a topic lots of teens think about, and a reall healthy and safe way to explore it is through poetry.

Your teachers 'may' be a litle concerned about it and ask you to speak to a school counsellor if you guys have those, but thats only because they are naturally concerned about all the kids under their care. Even if this happpens, so long as you are not often turning in the 'darker' types of writing, its no big deal, and any counsellor would be aware of the healthy aspects of writing about it in a creative style.

You'll still get those extra credits.
Its a well written piece of work. Well done :)

I mean it's a bit depressing stuff, I' not sure where you got an idea to write about suicide from, you don't want to hand in work like this all the time otherwise your teacher might think you have some depression problems. It's that what happend to that guy who killed those kids in Virginia, I heard on the net that his teacher had said he woudl write morbid and depressing stuff, anyway just a thought.

This is very interesting. The way your professor interprets
this is another question. My question is, is this the way you really feel or do you write about a lot of different issues? like
mysteries and murder? Sometimes we put our true feelings on paper and sometimes it's just fiction like romeo and Juliet.
If you are depressed and have any true thoughts of dying please talk to someone, Because life is beautiful. It can be
very very hard but it's better to be here and have all kinds of
experiences and adventures. Maybe your gift here is to be a writer or poet. Good luck on your paper.

In view of recent events this seems a bit tasteless and smacks of attention seeking.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt however, as far as creative writing goes... it sounds overly dramatic and immature. Not depressing but bitter and petulant..

I would certainly turn it in though - if you need help there is no shame in being evaluated and treated.

Awesome, you are a great writer. Some people may take that the wrong way but I think its great. I hope you are keeping a book of your writings and publish it someday. You know your teacher better then we do.

You should remove this question as it contains your real name.

And after what happened yesterday, people are going to be super paranoid. I would not hand it in if i were you.

It is pretty good though.

it's writing and if this is for English, the teacher probably won't think anything of it like that
