I can't think of any way to personalize a plain ordinary wallet, leather or fabric. What is the best way to decorate either one of those materials?

You can try fabric paints, beads and such, embroidery, or ribbon. Let your imagination run, and don't worry if one idea seems silly. Sometimes the silliest or stupidest ideas I've had have lead to the best ones.

leather you can get leather stamps and stamp in designs but if its a commercially made wallet it will already have sealer on it so you really cant do that, you can use fabric paints and add on beads, gems and all sorts of things to a fabric wallet, plain leather you might be able to put small holes in it to attatch a brass plaque you can have engraved at some jewelry places and places that make engraved plaques and such for trophies and memorabilia.

They sell those little gems stones that have a flat back, or the little rhinestones that are made just to put on stuff like that, go to a craft store and you can find all different kinds of colors, shapes and styles. My daughter uses them on her cell phone.
