Suzyq, I support President Bush on most items, tax cuts and one that's very important to me is war on terrorism, but, he leaves me hanging on illegal immigration. Almost to the point of saying, shove it.
Just last night 3 illegals shot a gentleman on pay phone...because he fought against giving them his wallet in an attempted robbery. And the list goes on and on with the daily count going up. Fed Up!
And President Bush and the whole Republican party, minus a couple that speak about it...leave us the public hanging by our thumbs.
I know business. I know both party's are pandering to hispanic's as voters or on the business side of the equation. Both party's are selling us down the drain. President Bush has shown me in his 6+ years that he could care less about the immigration problems in the US of A. Almost like not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time with the war on terror. Can remember 70's and 1986 when all was forgiven for illegals. That was supposed to cure the problem. NOT.
Stats show that 25 in america are killed every day by illegals...9000 per year and neither party cares. Not even touched on the drain that it puts on our school system., our hospital's,emergency rooms (11 emergency rooms closed in california over past year) 60 Billion a year that's sent across the borders into Mexico each year and the damned list goes on and on and on.
Sick of it? So very sick. And, you better believe , if I find a candidate that is (BELIEVABLE) in stopping illegal immigration, that individual will be well on his way to getting my vote and many others that I know. On immigration, President Bush has totally let us down. Many family's have and will pay the ultimate price of having or will lose a loved one. ie: Virginia Beach last week and the list goes on.
All of us have immigrants in our back ground. That's what our great America is made up from. They were LEGAL.
At this point, our POTUS and Democrats could care less....
I'll quit before I turn into a third world country sitting at my key board........

Yes, I am one of those that supports him on his policies on the economy and the war on terror and the battles of Iraq and Afghanistan. Immigration policies-absolutely not. We need to enforce the laws we have and should have been doing so for many years. What good are laws if they are not enforced? We should have a guest worker program but all the illegals here should not benefit from that program. If they sincerely want to become legal, there should be a very strict method they could use that would cost them in money and time. In other words, they should not be rewarded for breaking our laws and they should not be able to get ahead of the ones that are here legally and making the required effort and sacrifices to become citizens.

No the Democrats alongside with Clinton want to place it on the employer understanding it is going to be very confusing to get by any smart regulation on that component. meanwhile the Democrats want to develop magnets to charm to illegals right here, such because of the fact the Dream Act this is roofed in the Senate bill (and why, pray, when you consider that that bill is meant to end unlawful immigration? What illegals may be left to grant in state training to?) the two her and Bush's perspectives on immigration suck. they are the two globalists, and that i'm balloting against globalists in 2008.

no democrat or republican has proposed a legitimate plan against immigration. illegal immigrants and drugs are coming over en mass and r doing no favors to our economy. i hope the 08 pres. candidate has an efficient plan for immigration and is content on securing the border. i do support bush, but i don't know about some of his immigration reform. it's time for someone to step it up and make America as secure as possible before it's too late.

Me. I support Bush, but we can't let immigrants take over our country, if they want to live here, abide by our laws and speak our language. i understand that inplaces, like Miami, they have cubans coming over, and I would expect for many people to know Spanish, but why should the entire state of California be forced to because of illegals? It's common to not speak english when going a fast food restraunt, but having to speak spansh. LEARN OUR LANGUAGE! if you want to be here so bad, then follow OUR rules, not your own. Otherwise, it will become the country that you wanted to leave!

That is a very good way to describe how I feel. I support the war on terrorism, I think he's doing a good job with the economy (excellent considering the circumstances). But on illegal immigration he has got it COMPLETELY wrong. We didn't elect him to offer (what amounts to ) amnesty. This next election I hope we get a true conservative that will do something about this issue.

First off, i support Bush's stance against terrorism and everything like that, not because i think George Bush's reason for going to Iraq was correct, rather because the Islamic people do believe in terrorism, they do hate us, and they will kill us if they had the chance. They massacred my race over 92 years ago and they will do it again
And regarding his stance on immigration, i think it is correct to, because Mexicans are coming here doing cheap labor, and just basically creating a better economy, although i would like the president to deport all those Mexicans who are involved in gang violence and refuse to do "mexican jobs"

Me !!
An interesting addition : A friend told me that he believes President Bush is intentionally dragging his feet on the immigration issue because. . . . . He says, if we don't add a whole bunch of people to the tax rolls , then most every social program will go broke soon because of the baby-boomers .

That would be me.
I agree with the war and the reasons for such, I agree with his stance against abortion and gay marriage
But immigration? no.
If you are in this country illegally, then get out. I have a lot of issues and reasons for such a stance but I wont get into it just now
