Just do a recovery of your hard drive and take it back too the factory settings that way you don't have too reinstall windows because that's a pain in the butt.
If Norton came with the computer probably and that means it is part of the system so is office, unless you bought the disk then no problem you got the programs.
Of coarse if you have information that on the hard drive that is personal I have no Idea how too get rid of it because when I do a reformat or recovery I can't access the information that was on the hard drive earlier.

There is no way I know to save the Microsoft and delete all the rest.If you have the original MS Software you may try and use it to see if it will allow you to reinstall If not you can buy a new license from Microsoft Then re-format the hard drive this will virtually clean any remaining data or interrupt access to it.

Take the hard drive out, and have them buy a new one.
Or, you Install a new OS, and delete the particians.
You can not keep your office, unless you have the disc.

you cannot delete your hard drive permanantly. There are many programs that people have that can see the entire history of your hard drive. the only way to get rid of information stored on a hard drive is to say hello to my little firend i call the mallot!

you can delete it by dumping everything you don't want anyone to have in the trash then go in to the user account and create a new user then restart the computer and logging to the new account and go back in to user account and delete the account that you use to logging as and all it's contents it is alot easier then it sounds

It seems you want to remove your personal files in your PC before selling it.
The most common files saved on PCs are documents, pictures and videos.
By default, most programs save files in My Documents folder. You may want to go to that folder and delete or transfer your personal files saved in it.
Also if you have installed programs, you may want to go to Control Panel, Add Remove programs and unistall/remove programs, leaving only programs you wan't your friend to have.

A new hard drive is not that expensive. I can tell you for sure - if or when I sell this PC, I will literally destroy the current HD and sell it with a new one.
