i know this is not what is "socially acceptable" but do we actually need to shower everyday?

i know that if we are active/sweating/somewhere smelly/ on period/ playing in dirt, we should shower. but do we really need to shower if we havent done anything like that? i always wondered why everyone just kinda showers everyday because everyone else does it and also to feel clean. so if you feel clean why do you need to take a shower? and why do people take multiple showers in one day just because they took one this morning and wanna look nice for what they are doing that night? i know this is kinda a dumb question but i just wanna know because honestly, showering everyday just kinda gets annoying (for me anyway)

i do shower everyday and when i dont have anywhere to go every 2 days but i was just wondering if anyone thought that showering everyday is kinda annoying... i guess its just me but w/e i guess im just kinda tired and not really in a good mood

because honestly, it was cold and rainy today and i took a shower this morning and did nothing and still actually feel "clean" or not dirty anad sweaty and i really dont feel like showering for tomoro and i dont wanna have to do it tomoro morning either maybe im overwhelmed with things and having to do one more thing is pushing me over the limit but i mean showers are nice but then i never actually have motivation to take a shower unless a) i feel like i have to so im not "dirty" or b) i havent in a couple days and actually feel dirty

i know that people are used to it and not doing it is like kinda unheard of but i was really just wondering if we really needed to take showers once or twice a DAY because i really dont see the need but thats just me....and *SuPaStAr* lol

That is a cultural thing. Europeans are very clean people but most of them only shower once or twice a week. Americans are positively sterile! The body only really needs to be cleansed by a complete shower once a week (or less). The face, hands and pubic areas should be washed daily (the hands several times a day) for cleanliness and odor reasons but we really don't need to shower all that often. I'm a mom with two little kids now and another on the way and I could only dream of a daily shower. When I was in college, I remember times when I would end up showering as many as three times a day.

For me it's been a habit my whole life, I shower every evening and sometimes if I'm too tired in the morning I take a hot shower to wake me up. I love the feeling of being clean and refreshed, honestly, i dont know how anyone can go several days without a shower.

Nobody goes around asking people how long its been since their last shower. Do what you want and let ppl do what they want. I take 2 showers a day everday because I like showers. Its unessisary I know but its what I like, and if no showers is what you like go for it. Skrew the opinions of others.

i dont bother to shower more than twice a week unless i get sp sweaty and smelly that im all sticky then ill shower and nobody never knows the difference unless i tell them

I think it's just sanitary to take a shower everyday. Even if you aren't doing "dirty" things, it just is good to clean your body. Think of it this way; we all use toliets, and often share them with those in our home, or use a public restroom. Shouldn't we have a shower to clean ourselves?

Grossness aside, we all come in contact with dirt each day. We should shower just to ride ourselves of it.

if you don't shower every day, then it is more likely that the next day you might get acne... besides, if you really don't feel like showering, just wash your hair in the sink and wash your face... it takes a few minutes and prevents some negative things that come from not showering

Wow!! This is a really good question. The answer is definitely no. My reason: I have more sex when I don't shower than I do when I don't. My girl likes to smell me, not my soap..

I think it dries out and ages your skin to shower every day. Yeah, if you've been active or you've been out in the dirt, but every other day is good.

If I get all dirty,sweaty or something...yes everyday...but in the winter It is usually every other day as my skin gets really dry!
