no, if I won't open the door then I don't get my pizza!!
Even an intercom system wont' necessarily work. People lie.
Besides women nowadays are just as fierce as the men. My husband is military. If I never opened the door to strangers I'd be a shut in.
What about single women?

I talk through the door or window no matter if it is a woman or a man. A female can have a male accomplice. If the person is persistent, I show them my phone and me dialing 911 to report them. I have reduced a lot of door knocking by having a little sign by the door that says "No Salesmen!" On Saturdays, I would get like 5 guys trying to sell satellite or whatever. The sign has got a lot of them to back off the porch. Be safe!

I have my guard up in any situation that could be dangerous for me, so I don't open doors to strangers when I am alone. We women are more likely than men to be assaulted so I kind of agree with what you are saying. But to some extent!

I'm a cop in a large city in Texas, and always try to discourage anyone from opening their door if they do not know the person standing outside. It's a big risk, no matter the gender. My wife is a street smart FF/Medic, and I still don't want her opening the door to a stranger. I won't, and I am 6'2" and weigh in at 225 lbs, am a veteran cop and am packing most of the time. Not worth the risk.

When i'm home and it's just my son and i my doors are open but my security doors are locked. But when the b/f is home unlocked but back to locked again when it's bedtime. I believe i'd be able to handle myself anyway but i'd rather not put my son at risk. Being eight months pregnant i'm a little bit extra cautious. And in answer to your question......no women should not open their doors to strangers unless they are a blackbelt in something when the the man of the house isn't home. ; )

i am a pretty big guy and i do not answer the door when it is a stranger unless my dog is in site. anyone who comes to my house and knocks hears my babies bar. one pit and one weimeriener. (spelled wrong but damn.) i have had a couple of people knock hear my dogs and leave. that says to me they were up to no good. i am a fan of the Dog and Gun home security company. they are great. i think it is less safe for women because many attackers wont attack a male for fear that they may lose the fight but they see women as less strong and what not. i used to work in a prison and i can vouch that many many of the men in prison see women as less than human.

It is a terrible shame that our communities had deteriorated
to such a disgusting state. No I don`t think anyone should
open their doors to strangers . Too many home invasions..
I am wondering if this is happening every where worldwide..?

It's dangerous I'm not gonna lie, however I think that WHOEVER opens the door, should at least check through the window or peep hole. That's the safest way. for ANYBODY

Not in todays world. In fact, it's not even safe for anybody, male or female, to open their doors to strangers. Too many psychos out there.

I am a woman, and I just don't feel comfortable answering the door to a stranger when my boyfriend is not home. So I hide, and pretend I am not home.
